18 of 365 - Jagged Little Elephant

A couple of years ago my friend Tasha gave me a journal with a cloth cover that has this image is inked on. I was flashbacking with Nick, listening to Alanis Morissette's album Jagged Little Pill while I drew this one.

Day 17 - Winter Should Always Be Over

Winter is really getting to be a drag, so I thought I'd put myself somewhere warn for a while. It was initially just a bungalow, because I've always wanted a bungalow of my own, but I think it turned out pretty cool. Especially because the flash is right on the lightest part, and really makes the inside of the bungalow stand out. There's a crystal ball on the table.

Day 16 - Long and Winding Road - Pt. II

Took forever, I thought my hand would fall off. All the color is marker, all blackness is pen.

15 of 365 - The Long and Winding Road Pt. I

This took so long I needed two days, but if I had to argue it's a stand alone, I could.

14 of 365 - Great Milenko

This is the face on the first CD I ever bought with my own money from a real record store, which I cannot remember the name of, but it was in the Faribo West Mall.

13 of 365 - Training Day

In hindsight, the title is so much more significant than I intended. They're on a train, and they're practicing being friends! Just like Bugs, it's based on an actual picture.

12 of 365 - Step Off

A conglomeration of an hour of Googling images and drawings of flowers and birds and all kinds of weird stuff, all leading to dragons and/or butterflies in various CGI and photoshopped forms. The title is what this mighty little flower would say to the dragon as it neared stepping on the flower.

Day 11 - Who You Gonna Call?

A very quick sketch based on a painting my roommate Nick had on his tumblr, which can be found here: http://grandnationalchampionships.tumblr.com/

10 of 365 - Moonwalker

This Michael Jackson went through almost as many mouth transplants as the real MJ, and he probably could have used one more hand transplant, too. What can say? Whole people are not my specialty, but I couldn't resist. Don't forget about the little guy on a string who MJ's launching with the rocket.

9 of 365 - Your Average Band

The guitar is one I bought off Ebay for $.99, yes, that's 99 cents, and it's a beautiful shade of grass green. The pirate's face is based on a coconut I bought in Florida that, to be honest, looks pretty much like the drawing, except the real one has paint on it. The rest I can't explain, the turtle just appeared and wanted to sing, so as band manager I felt, well, I felt bad for the little guy, so I let him sing, but that pissed the pirate off and he dropped his mic and cane.

8 of 365 - Rollin' on E

This is a nearly perfect (I use this word as loosely as a meat sandwich) rendition of my 1989 Plymouth Acclaim, Sanchez, which I had to abandon in a junk yard in October. This title and the idea of titling all the drawing was suggested to me in a comment, and I decided from that moment on to do it.

7 of 365 - Running Wild

The legs are so close...and yet so far.

I have a running (pun intended) inability to draw horse legs from memory. I'm often mocked mercilessly. Because of this, I drew a horse, although, I did not do it completely from memory - I looked at multiple photos, sketches, outlines, etc. Of course, the one I chose to refer to most, was missing one leg. That's why something doesn't look quite right, I had to improvise...from memory. I'm ok with it. The title is a reference to the TV show, which unfortunately, was recently cancelled. Thanks a lot, FOX.

6 0f 365 - Winterovsky

If only you all had seen what this looked like in my head. First off, his beard was initially that whole brown, neck thing he has going on. His hair was going to be red white and blue because, you know, he's American, but it was ugly, and not what I wanted, so I made him a very handsome Russian, ha, hence the title.

5 of 365 - Man in the Mirror

This is actually based on a real photo, that I thought was kind of cool. Many of you have experienced my obsession with Michael Jackson first hand, so I'm sure it's no mystery how I chose the title.

4 of 365 - The Fun Under

This one started with the outline of what's underground. I just drew a shape, and the rest came out of it, and built up inside it, as the shape was so large. In case you can't really tell, which I can't, but I drew it, the right upper corner has a girl climbing down a ladder into a cart. It's like a ride; a roller coaster, if you will. The sit backwards, then go over the jump, which causes the cart to drop down into a holding cage, and the child to be expelled into a bouncy air thing, and then drop into the water. It's lame, but what are you going to do?

3 of 365 - Mad Men (aka Eh, what's up, Doc?)

This is the third drawing, and I really can't say what has lead to Loony Tunes, but there you have it. I found a print on Google of this version of Bugs Bunny, so I drew it, then added the background as mistakes appeared. In the print Bugs was sitting on stool or some kind of box, but I though it would be easier to draw him on a fence, and the rest came out of that.

1 of 365 - The Set-up

It's day one. My mom asked me to draw her a picture that would "agree with" a drawing my sister gave her for Christmas. This is what conjured the idea for a blog. The drawing was of a few birds on a branch in winter, with glitter and white paint for the snow, and colored pencil for the birds. I think they were a Cardinal, a Blue Jay, and I'll say a Robin, but that could be totally wrong. All this is to say I didn't do a very good job "agreeing with" my sister's drawing, but my mom took it anyway.

The Goal

Today I begin a year long test of my patience. Can I really complete one drawing a day for the next 365 days? We shall see, I suppose, we shall see. Hope you enjoy.
